The Sculpt Factory is an ongoing semi fictional responsive project in mockumentary style following a group of employees of the fake factory, all played by myself in the shed at the bottom of my garden.
The project was born through the frustration of not being able to work the 'normal' 9-5, or at least get paid like any other skilled job role would. And with 'MoJo BoJo' calling out the creative community and asking us to 're-train' it gave the perfect place to respond to.
The project is based on Instagram, a platform where I wanted to introduce the concept, then move the project into a more formatted episodic place on YouTube, but after posting the initial videos I was able to respond to comments as the other character I play from different accounts, which in turn created the 'Faketrix Universe', which is the semi fictional and very fake (but probably more real than most of the stuff we see on social media) world in which my art work exists. The opportunity to reply to other followers from the multiple accounts I had created in this universe allowed for improvisation and responsive content to be created, and have now decided that for now at least the Sculpt Factory will stay on Instagram.
