The Faketrix is an expanded universe created as a semi-fictional space for artists to exist as alter ego’s, allowing for artists to explore different sides to their practice without affecting their personal practice by engaging in a fictional collaborative environment.
The Faketrix works in a narrative based context, providing a background and platform for artists to build from. The Fake!Business directory provides information and context for the businesses that make up the Faketrix universe, these businesses can be used by the artists as inspiration for products to design for, pushing and challenging artists to create fake products for fake companies.
Using the hashtag #Enterthefaketrix the universe builds with each post connected, with each post the narrative continues.

The Faketrix is a social media art experiment that crosses the borders between fiction and reality.
The idea has developed over the past few years from a Fake Company that enhanced the conceptual ideas of one of my original Sculptures, into an ever expanding Universe called The Faketrix, based on a concept about how fake the internet has become, rather than fight against it, we use it, we become the Catfish vigilantes making fake accounts for good old entertainment and art rather than more sinister reasons or plain vanity.
If we are FAKE! but were honest about it, would that make us more real than other things on the internet?
